tindale in Utah and his grandfather, Bill
Martindale in Idaho. Tyler, an internet/
media expert was raised with AFTs all
his life from his grandfather Bill and his
uncle, Brent Martindale.
Tyler learned there were some AFT
breeders still out there and created our
American Flying Tumbler club on Face-
book – not realizing there where so many of us still breeding and enjoying
these amazing AFT’s or “Little Yankee Tumblers,” as Gus Lichtenwald
nicknamed them.
All 60 members now thank Tyler for helping us all get back together
to keep the AFTs going into the future! We invite anyone interested in
learning more about the American Flying Tumbler to visit our AFT club
site on Facebook. First developed in America by our founder, Gus Lichten-
wald in the 1940s, AFT are one of the very few “old world type” Performing
Tumblers left in the world that also show well in the show room.•
