6 – Purebred PIGEON
From the Editor
The Classic Old Frill feature looks great! Thanks to Mike
McLin for all his efforts on this issue. Lots of good articles and
lovely photos of a lovely breed!
We are doing something different for our next two issues
and we hope you will be a part of it!
Our November/December issue is going to feature the
National Young Bird Show in Louisville. Consistently one of the
largest shows in the U.S. every year, the NYBS has loads of spe-
cialty meets, a huge “for sale” section and a large Dove meet.
Our January/February issue will feature the Iowa State
Pigeon Association’s Pigeons on the Prairie Show in Des Moines,
Iowa. Des Moines is frequently the largest show with many
specialty meets that draw from all over the country and Canada.
Canceled last year due to the avian flu, we want to welcome this
show back with a big feature – they are expecting big entries as
this is their 90th Anniversary Show!
We need articles on any facet of these two great events:
• Overall thoughts/reflections on your experiences
• Show Reports from your club meet
• Memories of shows in the past
• Big wins you’ve experienced
• Photos from past shows or this year’s events
And just like our breed features, advertising for your loft or
birds is discounted 20% and I am happy to create an ad for you at
no extra charge.
Full page ad (normally $250) is just $200
Half Page (normally $145) is just $116
Quarter Page (normally $85) is just $68
We are extending the deadline for the November/Decem-
ber issue as the NYBS is at the end of October. New deadline is
November 10.
Deadline for the January/February issue featuring the Des
Moines’ Pigeons on the Prairie Show is January 1.

the judge’s eye! We will see you in Louisville and Des Moines.
