Purebred Pigeon Sept/October 2025
Breed of the Issue - AMERICAN GIANT HOMER GIANT HOMER – Page 25 – Purebred PIGEON To top it all off, I was honored to win Champi- on Cock with a beautiful opal check. My heart was just about pounding out of my chest when he got picked. It was one of those moments you never forget. Now, my daughter Courtney is beginning to show an interest in the birds too. While she hasn’t been as involved in the past, she’s start- ing to ask more questions and spend time out at the loft when she visits. It’s special to see the next generation begin to connect with the pigeons, just like I did all those years ago. I’m hopeful that maybe someday she’ll take an interest in showing or even just helping out at a futurity. It brings me a lot of joy to share this passion with my family, and maybe, just maybe, we’ll make this a three-generation tradition. Looking back, this journey has brought me full circle – from that little boy in Reno bringing home Rollers, to a grandfather showing champions, surrounded by family and friends who’ve made it all worthwhile. I can’t wait for December.
