GIANT HOMER – Page 20 – Purebred PIGEON Breed of the Issue - AMERICAN GIANT HOMER 51st AGHA Young Bird Futurity December 5th, 6th and 7th 2025 Norman, Oklahoma By Grover Williams T he 50th Anniversary AGHA Futurity – held last December – was a great show! We had a great turnout and it was a very enjoyable event celebrating fifty years. All color class winners received Certificates of winning their class. And everyone received 50th Anniversary patches. At that 50th event, we had a member show with us that also showed at the first Giant Futurity back in 1975 – Mr. Carroll Cooper of Tyler, Texas. Carroll is a master breeder with the N.P.A. and the American Giant Homer Association. He also provided his homemade soup for lunch for everyone. We would like to give a big thank you to Carroll – that was very nice of you! Now we are looking at the 51st Young Bird Futurity in Norman, Oklahoma on December 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2025 at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. This year, we are pleased to have the Texan Pioneer Association and the National French Mondain Club also showing with us. If your club would like to participate, please contact Grover Williams at 361.404.9330. We would love to have you, and I will go over all the details with you. The build- ing that we have now can hold up to approximately 1,300 birds and more if we double stack pens. It also has heat/AC, clean restrooms and very nice staff that will help in any way needed. So, if you are looking for a place to hold your meet, come join us in Norman on December 5, 6, 7 2025.• passed I am no longer one of the young guys but a senior member. Now I am probably the oldest active member showing birds, competing and I have still won my fair share of classes. This will all be short coming as the battle I have fought with cancer is catching up to me. It has gone to my bones so this battle in time will be lost. Will close out saying it has been an enjoyment and a pleasure raising Giant Homers. I’ve met many friends and acquaintances over these years. In closing, God Bless and keep raising and promoting American Giant Homers.• American Giant Homer Standard Drawing by Gary Romig
