(Editor’s note: Part I of this series was in the July/August isuse -- part of the introduction is reprinted below for new readers/subscribers) The Siegerring competition is held once every 50 years for each of the major breeds of pigeons in Germany. Siegerring translates to Winner’s or Victor’s ring. For most fanciers it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete and win a ring. Gold, silver and bronze rings are awarded for first, second and third place, respectively. As the penultimate competition between German exhibitors of each breed, it is a great honor to be the Winner of the Golden Ring. 6 – Purebred PIGEON Judges Lars Starke and Jens Bartsch review V 97-point Black Bernburg 2019 Bernburg Trumpeter Siegerring area Gerd Peters (Gold Ring) and Andreas Albrecht (Silver Ring) Winner of the Golden Ring Part II By TomMoss
