DeRoy, a DeRoy from Clas- sic Mag or Almond breeding, is also Black Pigment, its ground color is sort of a shade of orange between our good Recessive Yellow Agates and our good recessive Red Agates; and as Dennis mentioned, you won’t get any Rich Jet Black or Dark Colored Kite Bronze Break in a DeRoy, but you will very often get Dark Recessive Red Color Breaks in a DeRoy. What Dennis didn’t touch on with regard to the DeRoys, is, a DeRoy colored pigeon to a Dark Kite Bronze pigeon is one of the BEST pairings, matings, to produce Classic Colored Magnanis and/ or Almonds. It is by far my FAVORITE pairing to produce Almonds. It’s no Tall Tale that Dennis is telling you when he says that seeing any amount of Dark Tail feathers emerging in growing youngster is a real good indication of a Mag or Almond that will develop the Color Break which you are looking for… It Abso- lutely Is!! And, as he says, the Stipper Gene changes the phenotype, the appearance of a Magnani, an Almond with each and every Molt. It is quite a spectacular show each fall, and the pigeons become Strikingly more Beautiful as they Age.
