8 – Purebred PIGEON Champion Young Muff. Bred by Bander Alghamdi birds so I had a busy, but enjoyable, day ahead of me. I also met Spud Peugh from the USA who was over to judge the Indian Fantails and Guillaume Wurtz from France who was judging the Oriental Frills. Before starting judging, Bander explained how their judging system worked. They had four sections – Self, Bar, Marking and Other. The Marking category would include Dark Splashes, Light Splashes and Baldheads. The Dark Splashes would be classed as Teagers. The Other category would include Qualmonds and Opals, but this section would not go up for Champion. So for champion young Muff, champion old Muff, champion old Clean Leg and champion young Clean Leg, there would be only three birds present – a Self, a Bar and a Marking. If a Self won champion, the 2nd place Self would then be brought back to pick the reserve champion, and whatever was picked for that, the F.P.A. Long Face Tumbler Club Show in Jeddah By Scott L. Sharp, Scotland I was asked by Bander Alghamdi if I would like to go to the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to judge their FPA Long Face Tumbler Club show on January 17, 2025. On arrival at the Jeddah Airport I was met by Bander, who helped me get my visa and on leaving the arrival hall was also met by his good friend Khalid Alhaidari and his son Nawaf, who were to be looking after me the whole time I was in Jeddah. As Bander was working night shift we dropped him off at his work and Khalid drove me to my hotel, which was very nice. The following day, which was the day before the show, Khalid picked me up and we went for lunch and then he drove me around large areas of Jeddah. We were going to the show in the evening, but when we phoned Bander he said the setup was finished, so no need to go. On the morning of the show we arrived to see most of the birds were penned. A couple of breeders had a long distance to travel so they were delayed a bit. I enjoyed look- ing around the rest of the breeds which were at this show – Jacobins, Oriental Frills, African Owls, Modenas, Indian Fantails and Turkish Nasal Crests. In the Tumbler section, there was a total entry of 214
