Because clearly this bacteria had never seen that particular drug but, over time, had developed a resistance to the other drugs. In closing, as most are aware, modern medicine is now dealing with “super bugs” like MRSA that are unresponsive to most antibiotics. As someone who loves this hobby, I worry that we may end up facing the same dilemma with our pigeons if we are not more judicious in our use of medications. Just one man’s opinion.•
