19 – Purebred PIGEON Bagdad male with an F1 female, and indeed their offspring were very heterogeneous both in the coloration of the iris and the cere´s eye. I got some really nice solid colors in Blue Bar and Checker and Red Checker. The type and size were maintained in the backcross with the male French Bagdad and decreased slightly in the F2 descendants of the F1 x F1 cross. THE RESOLUTION. As I accumulated many pigeons of endangered breeds and needed to do a lot of genetic work to recreate extinct breeds, I decided to buy an old house with a patio and out- buildings in a small village in the countryside 90 km from Madrid and develop my breeding and selection activity there, but... an unforeseen event occurred as in Jurassic Park. In this case, the complaints of a neighbor who, like the Tyrannosaurus rex, ruined everything. I had to take my pigeons from there, reduce their number, give away many and keep very few on the terrace of my apartment in Madrid. Still licking my wounds I muttered like Hammond, “Next Time It’ll Be Flawless!”•
