24 – Purebred PIGEON HappyTrails at TheAmerican PigeonMuseum andLibrary Article & Photos By Tom Moss Jerry Black is no gunslinging outlaw. He’s the Executive Director of Finance for The American Pigeon Museum and Library in Oklahoma City (OKC), Oklahoma and drives a Tesla. In contrast to the famous gunfighters and bushwhackers that once roamed this region of Oklahoma and Missouri, robbing banks and holding up trains and stagecoach- es – people like Jesse James, Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp, and the Dalton Gang – Jerry manages the finances for the pigeon museum, the only one of its kind in the United States. One of the main reasons I came to the NPA National Pigeon Show this year in OKC was to photograph a particular painting by Jakob Relovsky that I recently discovered resides at the museum. It’s a painting of various German pouters outside a typical half-timber home in the Black Forest region of Germany. I had literally searched the entire world looking for it a year before when I was writing an ar- ticle about Jakob for Purebred Pigeon. A blurry photo I saw a few months ago revealed that the painting was at the museum.
